Sydney Ramadan Radio

Asalamalaikum :D

One of the fun things I remember from my childhood is the special ramadan radio program. Listening to the live broadcasts of quran, islamic quizes and entertaining ramadan jingles right here in Sydney was super exciting.

Whether it be warm at home surrounded with the parents and the siblings, cramped between friends at a mega iftar party or driving home alone from work, we all wait for the final thunder-like dramatic drum roll announcing the end of the fast, followed by the beautiful heart warming azaan that floats over the air waves and reaches our ears.

A beautiful feeling of relief fills us as we raise our eyes to the soft pink and purple sky, watching the orange sun drown out another day of the blessed month of Ramadan. We thank our lord for another successfully completed act of worship, we are grateful for all the bounties he has provided us with and our hearts go out to all those who suffer the pangs of hunger and pains of thirst everyday around the world.

For those in Sydney the broadcast is over at 92.1 by Muslim Community Radio. It is complete with all the quran reciation, nasheeds, ramadan songs (yes, songs, yes with music, yes lets not go there....lol may Allah guide the Ummah) and ofcourse the ads, how can it be complete without the ads?

We ask Allah to teach a lesson to the tyrants of the world, to the greedy ones among them who deliberately enslaves governments through debts, whose leaders then render the masses to a state of starvation.

We ask Allah to open the eyes of those whose stomaches are full to open their hands which are tight and open the hearts that are blind.

We ask Allah for an Islamic State, a state which seeks to destroy pain and hunger on earth.

Ultimately we ask Allah the Almighty for Paradise, a place where hunger, thirst and pain do not exist.

Ramadan Mubarak, Ramadan Kareem and Happy Ramadan Everyone :)

May Allah bless everyone's home this Ramadan with peace and blessing Ameen.

Allah humma salli ala Muhammad wa ala aali Muhammad salalahu alayhi wasalam.
